What is the HMI module?

The HMI (Human-Machine Interface) is the component that manages the interaction between the driver and the multimedia, navigation, and telephone functions. It controls the on-screen image, processes USB data, and synchronizes the Bluetooth functions of the Intellilink 900 system. The HMI 2.5 module improves all of this with a faster processor and greater fluidity.

There are two main versions used in Opel vehicles: HMI2.0 and HMI2.5. Only HMI2.5 supports CarPlay/Android Auto. To find out which HMI version your car has, simply check the main menu for an icon labeled "projection." If this icon is not present, you have HMI2.0, and this service is fully compatible.
